Nobody really enjoys paying $9.99 a month to get VZ Navigator on your Windows Mobile device, especially since a lot of devices already come with a built-in GPS device, though it has been locked by Verizon Wireless. Good news, as reports are going around that Verizon will be unlocking the GPS on the Touch Pro, Saga and Omnia through firmware updates, which should be available in the first half of 2009. The locking of the GPS on these devices is has caused of a lot of customer dissatisfaction, so it’s good to see Verizon finally start unlocking the GPS on their phones. Better late than never, right?
