Two months after the Nexus One, Motorola Droid to get Android 2.1
Motorola’s Droid has been by far the most popular Android smartphone to hit the U.S. souk, selling at a faster pace than the first generation iPhone, and creation up, by some versions, at least 15% of all Android handsets in use.
It was the first phone to takeoff with Android 2.0, a knowingly reshaped version of Google’s mobile operating system, and it was the first Android gadget on Verizon, making it a popular choice for the wireless supplier’s vast subscriber base.
However it remains a very sturdy user gadget, the Droid’s popularity in the tech civic was hastily overshadowed by Google’s Nexus One, which was hurled only three months later it. The Nexus One became Google’s first endeavor at directly vending smartphones, and the first phone with Android 2.1.
2.1 was only a minor platform upgrade, with no innovative trait as substantial as those brought by 2.0, but it comprised full multi-touch support and nipped the UI with eye-catching animated wallpapers and became an article of wish for Android fanatics.
