Samsung Blue Earth – solar-powered cell phone

It looks like Samsung is really serious about going green, as it plans to reveal a solar-powered full touchscreen phone, dubbed Blue Earth, which is slated to be unveiled at MWC 2009. Having a solar panel at the back of the phone will reduce the phone’s dependency on a power outlet, not to mention that it’s also made from eco-friendly materials, which includes recycled plastic from water bottles. One thing you’ll want to consider, are you going to let your spiffy new phone lie in the sun to charge? Still, it’s a step in the right direction.

It’s nice that mobile companies are going green. Because it is currently the one thing that people care about having and if cell phones are nature friendly, it might influence people to be as well.
It’s not only Samsung that will unveil a go-green product this MWC 2009 but I think LG has one too.
