Palm’s Pixi is better than magic dust

The Pixi is the second entrance into the mobile market for the respected WebOS, established by Palm. The main was the Palm Pre, a handset I use myself and have thoroughly keyed my views on. The Pixi has a prodigious numerous numbers of resemblances as its big brother, but also splits itself in a number of key habits.pixi-00_20091219125646_640_480

Sprint was caring plenty to propel over a Pixi, and after spending a decent contract with it, I can essentially say it’s a great tiny handset with numerous key features. All at once, the similar things that held rear the Pre hold the Pixi back.

I’ve extended said that the greatest keyboard ever constructed for a mobile phone lies on a BlackBerry device, the Bold. The Pixi is the major I’ve used since the Daring that makes me rethink that impression. I undeniably love the Pixi’s qwerty keyboard and to me it’s the best part of the phone, which is good considering it’s supposed to get a lot of use. The keyboard design is the similar as the Pre’s, which taken some familiarity with it. Dissimilar the Pre though, the Pixi’s keys are unhindered by the upper and lower lips that jut out on the Pre. This makes for a dreadfully well typing experience because my thumbs aren’t running into anything. I found myself typing out messages quickly in no time, in texts, emails and while chatting in Google Talk. The keyboard is the backbone of a smartphone, and the Pixi’s delivers.

It’s been over sixth months later I studied the Palm Pre, and for a handset that scores the similar software, there’s been perceptible budding. The App Catalog is superior, there’s extra polish on features of the software in nearly every area. That being said, the App Catalog is still miniscule (only 774 apps as of this writing), and right now it’s plagued by useless apps (several dozen creations from “Brighthouse Labs” espousing news from your favorite sports team.

I personally can’t wait for the Palm Pixi to hit UK shores. After reviewing the Palm Pre, one thing that was apparent to me was the slightly cramped keyboard which made texting a little bit awkward.

The Pixi has fixed this apparently, however the camera resolution has been dropped to 2 megapixels, which to be honest is a shambles.

WebOS is amazing, the 1.3.5 update will be amazing I am sure, and if Google could go back knowing about WebOS they’d surely design something very similar.

    Thank you for the post.
