Unlocked phones and nice, but if you’re a fan of the ShopSavvy app on T-Mobile’s G1, then you’re out of luck. Apparently ShopSavvy is only available if you have a SIM card from a country that they currently support, which means a SIM card from the US, UK, Germany, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Holland, Japan and China. If you don’t have a SIM card, then your location cannot be determined, and the application will not show up in the Android Market. The developers have said that if more users get unlocked phones, then they may adapt according to suit the overall needs of the customers, but until then, it looks like those with unlocked phones will have to go cold turkey.
