While being busy working with Nokia to bring Office Mobile to Symbian, Microsoft is also getting closer to launch Windows Mobile 6.5.

To lure as many developers as possible, the Redmond company has set up the Windows Mobile Developer Camp, which is a series of future “not-for-profit gatherings to develop applications for the upcoming release of the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 OS.”

The first WinMoDevCamp event will take place in Seattle, on August 19. After that, there will be similar events in New York, San Francisco, Austin, London and Singapore.

Microsoft expects attendees to include mobile developers, UI designers, .Net Developers, web developers, and testers.

Apart from creating new Windows Mobile apps and meeting Microsoft Mobile Developer Experience team members, attendees will also be able to “migrate existing mobile applications from the iPhone, Blackberry and Palm Pre to the Windows Mobile Platform.”
