HiMyTribe is location-aware mobile social network for iPhone

I’m not sure that we need another social networking app for the iPhone, but that hardly stops them from coming. A new social networking app has been released that uses the GPS capabilities of the iPhone for networking.

The application is called HiMyTribe and is intended to let iPhone users take social networks with them on the go. The app creates a real-time location based network and promises to deliver the first real-time person-to-person application for the iPhone.

The company behind the app says that it rolls the best features of MeetUp, LinkedIn, craigslist.org, and Google Maps into one application. The app lets you find people in your geographic area via GPS and search criteria.

“The benefit of HiMyTribe is that it enables individuals to network with business colleagues and potential associates all while on-the-go, anytime, anywhere. By leveraging the power of mobile social computing and the iPhone, we wanted to create a truly useful application that achieves what no other location based people finder application has done before,” said Jean-Marc Orselli, CEO of Never Alone Anymore. “HiMyTribe merges multiple social networking services on one seamless and unique platform with the intention of bringing people together, to create business and social connections.”
