Google Maps Mobile Now Offers Business Direction

8th Jan, 2009 | No Comment | Posted in Software

google-mapsGoogle has posted a nice little update to their Google Maps for mobile. Previously if you told the map to search for “Starbucks”, it would look for addresses with the word “Starbucks” in it. Now it’s been updated, and will recognize the names of businesses, and if you try to search for “Starbucks” or McDonald’s”, then it will pick out those businesses and give you the appropriate directions. Even better is that fact that users won’t have to update their devices, as the update was done server-side, and therefore users don’t have to do anything, aside from launching the program to try it out.
