AT&T Network Outage
Apple’s iPhone seems to give carriers’ networks a lot of extra work to do, and the iPhone 3G launch at Wal-Mart seemed to cause some problems for AT&T, as a lot of users started reporting network outages across the east coast and beyond. Some users complained of difficulties in connecting to AT&T’s 3G network. Some even experienced voicemail, BlackBerry service outages and even complete network outages. It certainly wouldn’t be too fun if you just bought your new iPhone at Wal-Mart and then found out that you wouldn’t be able to utilize it fully due to network issues. AT&T did confirm some network troubles, though they didn’t go into specifics as to which regions were affected or whether the issues had been solved.
